Wicked Tuna Boys Land Giant Bluefin aboard Tuna Hunter
The Wicked Tuna Boys had an awesome bluefin tuna charter aboard Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters.
While they are all avid Wicked Tuna fans, they will agree that nothing compares to being there in person to hear the reel scream, feel the power of the fish through the rod, battle fist to reel to angle the fish in crank by crank, see the harpoon shot, and finally pull your bluefin through the fish door.

Two 800lb Giant Bluefin Tuna, One Charter – Too Big for the Fish Door
Gloucester Tuna Charters on Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters
This is still the first 800lber of the day. This guy came in relatively easy – an hour battle – but does not fit through the fish door, so we use block and tackle strung up to the tuna tower to haul this beauty aboard. When doing so, the crew needs to take care to not bruise the fish – the Japanese like perfect fish for their sushi.
The second fish of the day was just a bit smaller – skinnier? He made it through the fish door. Good thing, because we were hauling him aboard at 9pm at night.
Tuna Hunter did a wheelie all the way home, with two 800lbers in the cockpit. Trim tabs can only do so much!

Gloucester Tuna Charters on Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters
This clip shows the end of the battle with the first giant bluefin tuna of the day. This guy came in easy, a one hour battle for an 800 lb bluefin tuna. Some are big, ft and lazy … Good thing, because the second 800lb bluefin this day was mean and lean, taking three hours to battle to the boat.

This video shows the Tuna Hunter crew assisted by Fred pulling the bluefin onto the boat. That first look when he’s at your feet is impressive.
Gloucester MA Shark Fishing – Big Sharks, Big Teeth, Big Angling Fight
Sharks are big this year – big in the news, big in size and a big angling fight. Since pound for pound sharks are not as strong as bluefin tuna, we can set you up to fight a big blue or mako shark stand-up, on a Penn reel using a Smitty fighting belt. This is an awesome way to fight a fish, and to see your shark up close when he gets near the boat.
Polish Bluefin Tuna Fishing – Gaff, Measure, Celebrate!
Boating a green bluefin tuna is tricky all the time, but even more so when one needs to safely gaff the fish and take a clean measurement.
Care needs to be taken for a clean gaff in key spots in the jaw. Then the crew must secure and measure avoiding harm to the fish, crew and boat.
On this 76 inch bluefin, the final measurement was confirmed after bringing the fish onboard, still unharmed, through the fish door. A towel calms the fish while captain and crew measured again – then celebrated. That makes a perfect score for Chris and friends – all Polish. Must be those Polish snacks, candy and luck that does the trick!
Large Medium Bluefin Tuna Charter – Jess and Litto’s Sushi Bluefin
Patience and a bit of luck brought Jess and Litto this 58 inch bluefin on a recent Tuna Hunter bluefin tuna chater. While not a giant, this bluefin has the benefit of being in the proper size slot for taking home.
Congratulations, and Enjoy that sushi, Jess and Litto!
